Public Fire and Life Safety Educator II

Prerequisite
The candidate shall be certified at Fire & Life Safety Educator I level. A completed application and the test fee is required before the test can be taken. The candidate must have the knowledge as outlined in NFPA 1035, Standard for Professional Qualifications for Fire & Life Safety Educator II.

Standard - NFPA 1035 Fire & Life Safety Educator II, 2000 Edition
The questions and skills tested are designed to test the candidate on the knowledge and proficiencies outlined in NFPA 1035 for Fire & Life Safety Educator II. All questions in the test bank have been referred to a specific standard in NFPA 1035.

The textbooks listed below were used in developing the test questions and the practical exams for the Certification test. The candidate should have knowledge of the information contained in these books.

Test

  • The test is two parts, a written test and a practical exam.
  • The written test is made up of 100 multiple-choice questions selected at random from a test bank of over 225 questions. A score of 70 percent (adjusted by standard measurement of error) correct answers must be achieved in order to achieve a passing score.
  • The practical exam consists of the candidate demonstrating proficiency in four to six categories selected at random from the proficiencies required in the NFPA 1035 standards.
  • Test Costs: $80

Re-certification

  • Every three years.
  • Requires 24 hours of practical experience for each of the three years.
  • Re-certification cost is $20.
