Airport Fire Fighter

Prerequisite

  • A completed application and proof of prior certification as a Firefighter II and as a first responder, operational level, as defined in Chapter 3 of NFPA 472, is required before a candidate is eligible to take a Airport Fire Fighter exam.
  • The candidate must have the knowledge and skills as outlined in NFPA 1003. This knowledge can be obtained from a variety of sources and many courses are readily available.

Standard

The questions and skills tested are designed to test the candidate on the knowledge and proficiencies as outlined in NFPA 1003 for Airport Fire Fighter.

All questions have been referenced to a specific standard in NFPA 1003.

    • IFSTA Aircraft Rescue and Fire Fighting, 4th Edition,2nd Printing

    • Test Costs: $70

    Re-certification

    • Every three years.
    • Re-certification cost is $20.
